I saw this effect online a little while ago and wanted to give it a try. All of these pics are from Waikiki beach from last November. It is a beautiful place, and I’m not sure if i like the effect or if I prefer the originals yet!

This iconic Hawaiian lighthouse is one of two on the island of O’ahu. It was the location used for a scene in Adam Sandler’s “50 First Dates” and over looks Manana island, or Rabbit island if you are a tourist. More interestingly, a few years ago a University of Hawai’i professor jumped off the lighthouse and his body was consequently eaten by four hungry Tiger sharks.
Hawai’i – Sunset waves

I took my final trip circling the island of O’ahu this December after living in Hawai’i for three and a half years. We finished up our day of driving by sitting at sunset beach and watching the sun go down as a group of surfers enjoyed the end of day in the water. I was overcome by peace and the fact that it was the right time to leave as the sunset.

Stretching from Makakilo to the shores of Ala Moana the ewa view from Magic Island on O’ahu is always breathtaking. Facing east the sun rises over Diamond Head and crawls through the sky to set over the Waianae mountain range, and in between the Honolulu city lights illuminate the landscape.
